In an exciting two-week endeavour, RYLMP policy-distruptors attended their first round of mobility in Skopje, North Macedonia. Since its Launching Event on 08-09 March, the programme set its yearly sights on empowering young leaders across the region.

During the intensive mobility period from 25.03.24 to 07.04.2024, a diverse array of activities unfolded, such as educational insights, institutional engagements, and enriching social-cultural exchanges.

Key Highlights:

  • Welcoming Visit at Youth Educational Forum: The fellowship journey commenced with a warm reception at the Youth Educational Forum, setting a spirited tone for the days ahead.
  • Engagement with President Stevo Pendarovski: Fellows were honoured with a visit to the Presidential residence, engaging in profound discussions on pertinent youth issues and regional cooperation.
  • Insights into Educational Systems: Visits to the Student Cultural Center and meetings with university representatives shed light on the evolution of educational systems and career counseling initiatives.
  • Governmental Collaboration: Fellows convened with government officials to delve into crucial youth policies and opportunities for collaborative research, addressing pressing issues such as education, employment, and environmental sustainability.
  • Cultural Enrichment and Social Exchange: Amidst institutional engagements, fellows immersed themselves in Skopje’s cultural heritage and natural beauty, fostering camaraderie and reflection.
  • Exploration of Regional Dynamics: Visits to institutions like the National Youth Council and discussions with stakeholders at the Secretariat for European Affairs provided invaluable insights into regional cooperation and socio-economic dynamics.
  • Focus on Environmental Sustainability: Meetings with the Ministry of Environment highlighted ongoing efforts in green agenda development, emphasizing the need for environmental education and awareness among youth.
  • Empowerment through Youth Work: Fellows explored avenues for youth empowerment and professional development through interactions with the Union for Youth Work, uncovering opportunities for growth and impact.

The Skopje mobility round of the RYLMP Programme stands as a testament to its commitment to nurturing leadership and cooperation among youth in the region.
