The cooperation between SCiDEV and AFI aims to research, advocate and lobby for food safety, to impact systemic and legal changes for more food safety for the Albanian consumer by proposing models based on evidence for strategic solutions for guaranteeing food safety in the framework of consumer protection, by establishing simple models and practices that enable the implementation of food safety standards by the food operators and the examination through monitoring, inspection, and self-reporting, as well as awareness-raising of the producers, consumers and other actors in Albania and the larger public for the importance of food safety. In order to achieve this scope, the project will cooperate with policymaking and legislative institutions, and those responsible for examining, monitoring, and guaranteeing food safety like the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Food Business Operators.
